Join Certified Bird Bander, Amanda and team as they use capture, mark, and recapture techniques to collect data about our wild bird population. See the process up close and personal as Amanda and her team expertly remove birds from the nets, apply a
USGS band, measure and weigh the bird and finally release the bird back into the wild.

Meet the Banding Team at the Vangrin Pavilion at Eden Mill. Follow Eden Mill Road (past the Nature Center and Canoe Barn). Parking is on both sides of the Big Branch Bridge. Parking is
very limited. Walk to main trailhead and the pavilion is just inside the woods to the left.
All banding, marking, and sampling is being conducted under the federal authorized Bird Banding Permit issued by the U.S Geological Survey’s Bird banding Lab.
