New to beekeeping? Need a refresher?
Spring into Bees at Eden Mill Nature Center on March 23rd, 2025, from 9am – 12 pm!
Geared towards adults, but registered children 6 years of age are welcome to accompany a registered adult.
– Join us as we learn how to not only light a smoker, but keep that smoker lit during your hive inspection!
– Beekeeping can be expensive! And there are lots of gizmos and gadgets on the market! We will have some of these items on display for you to check out to see if you really need it or perhaps save your money for sugar!
– Did you order a package or a Nuc?! How exciting! But how do you get them into the big white box? Do not worry! We will show you!
– Cooking for bees. Yes, you are going to need to feed your bees at some point. We will show you how easy it is to feed your bees and different ways to feed.
– The ins and outs of doing a hive inspection and journaling.
– IPM intro
– For the young beekeepers! We need help painting our honeybee’s hive! We will have a hive set up for youth to decorate and paint!
This program is geared to adult participants but children 6+ are welcome with a registered adult.
