We teach environmental education with hands-on experience
Founded in 1991, Eden Mill Nature Committee, Inc. is a non-profit volunteer run organization that creates and supports educational and environmental programs and partnerships for our surrounding communities.
Our mission is “To provide the opportunity for all people to develop a greater appreciation and awareness of the natural and historical resources of the area by encouraging the utilization of the facilities and programs to be established at Eden Mill.”
Nature Center Hours
The park grounds (canoe/kayak launch, trails, picnic areas, etc.) are open daily, from dawn to dusk.
Our Nature Center and Historic Grist Mill Museum are Open:
As a Harford County Parks and Recreation facility, we follow Harford County Government’s holiday schedule and inclement weather closing schedule. The nature center and mill museum may be closed for short periods of time in order to accommodate our programs, so we always recommend calling ahead to insure our buildings are open.
Please be aware that Monday-Friday, April through June. The Nature Center may be closed between the hours of 9am-12pm to accommodate school field trips. We recommend calling prior to planning your visit. Trails will remain open and available to the general public.
- Monday – Friday: 8:30am-4:30pm
- Saturdays: 9:00am-4:30pm

Volunteer Opportunity
Like to Canoe? Interested in Volunteering?
We’re looking for adult volunteers to help us guide the public on 2-hour canoe excursions on Deer Creek. Experience is not required. We provide equipment and training. Training begins in the spring. For more information contact, our canoe team lead, Kathy Schmitt, at oakstumpplace@gmail.com
